Chiara and Roberta
Chiara and Roberta have lived together in Ferrara for twelve years. They have two 7-year-old twin girls, Emma and Giada, conceived by artificial fertilization carried out in Spain. They were married with a civil ceremony at Barcelona City Hall in February 2010, but their marriage is not recognized by Italian law. They applied to the Italian Constitutional Court to obtain legal recognition of their union in Italy, but their petition was dismissed by the Supreme Court.
